Tyler Andrews is an independent photojournalist and dynamic leader based in Washington, D.C. Since transitioning from active-duty service, he has self-assigned coverage of social activism initiatives and the presence of federal agents in the District and on the ground in Minneapolis. Andrews is available for assignments nationwide.
Prior to that, he has nearly five years of experience in the United States Marine Corps, capturing compelling photos, videos, and written reporting–in the air, on land, and at sea–that document the humanity and core values of the world’s strongest fighting force.
Andrews exemplifies versatility and a passion for innovation in visual journalism, a strong news judgment, and ethical journalistic instincts. His relentless physical and fortified mental aptitude was forged through around-the-clock skills-based training in educational, professional, and high-pressure environments.
Andrews was selected as a photographer for the 2026 Washington Post internship class.
